Animating at Afnorth

Corry 'sand animating'The last couple of days I’ve been running some sessions and workshops at Afnorth International School in the Netherlands. This is the second time they’ve invited me, and colleagues from Advisory Matters. Last year, I did a quick introduction to stop-animation using Xipster, an easy-to-use application in which you can get students animating quickly. This year, Corry, a Canadian teacher at the school has really taken animation on, and the aim was to support her enthusiasm so that other teachers in the school can integrate it into their teaching as well. Here’s Corry trying her first ’sand animation’. She’s now going to persuade the Technology Department to make her a large lightbox to get her class doing this type of animation!

Here’s an example of a sand animation done by students in Singapore for a competition to whet your appetite as well.
