Keeping up with the Zohos

New web 2.0 applications appear almost every day now, and while most have seen Google sheets, it’s the Zoho suite that those in ‘the know’ rave about. Their latest application, Zoho Notebook looks awesome. As well as integrating Zoho Writer (word processor) and Sheet (spreadsheets), you can embed text, images, video, HTML, RSS, javascript, Flash, [...]

Press report on interactive whiteboards research concentrates on the negative

Yet again, press reports on the latest research into the use of interactive whiteboards prefer to concentrate on emphasising negative aspects rather than giving a balanced view. Apparently:
“… academics from London University’s Institute of Education raised doubts over the long-term benefits of using the equipment.”
When if fact the report states:

What’s in a name?

At this week’s Naace Executive Meeting (of which I am Vice Chair), it was decided to recommend to members that the name of the association be changed from Naace to The ICT Association. Following my previous post regarding being blog-tagged by Theo, as promised, here are five things you may not know about me:
1) I was often confused for the Welsh Outside Half

During the late 1970s, while at university, I was often confused for Gareth Davies the Welsh Rugby player. There were some similarities other than our names, [...]

Being tagged and not noticing!

I was feeling a bit out of it … bloggers I was reading were all taking part in the blog-tag game, and no one had tagged me yet. Self doubt was creeping in, perhaps no-one was reading this blog, or at least finding it at all interesting? But today I discovered that Theo had tagged [...]

ICT test to be made ‘optional’

You don’t have to go far to be confused about the status of ICT in our education system. On the one hand it is the cornerstone of the 21st century vision for Education 2.0 in the UK, on the other key initiatives that might drive change in schools are soon scorned and then lost. According [...]
