Never mind the technology, where’s the learning?

It was the first meeting of Naace members to take place in Second Life tonight. A group of about 20 members are taking part in a 10 week course on Second Life initiated by Leon Cych. The first proper session takes place tomorrow and tonight’s get together was informal. I was about half an hour late so missed the beginning and joined the dozen Naace members attended. Leon had logged in from a motorway service station on the M5, while Chris Smith was up very late in Thailand to taking part.

In this first experience, there were lots of observations from those present. Since many knew each other in real life, having different names and visual representations that look very different was at first very strange. We even went round and introduced ourselves perhaps for psychological reassurance, I’m not sure. The next few weeks will be interesting no doubt.
